At the heart of these designs lies a beautifully executed icon. As described by designer Tom; "The brewery wanted a strong brand that would represent the local area. I wanted to create a brand that had a sense of its heritage and place in history, as well as capturing the exciting vibrant new spirit of modern Birmingham. For me there is nothing more symbolic of the city than the architecture, from the industrial past to the use of patterns in iconic new buildings, making them instantly identifiable. So I wanted to combine these elements into the brand, using bold pattern and colour to hopefully create a similarly unique and instantly recognisable brand."
This icon alongside the simple typography and restrained colour palette results in some real standout clips and labels which manage to look both fresh and classic. The roll-out over merchandise and packaging is equally impressive - I particularly like the use of the oversized pattern element on the side of the gift packaging. Nice work!
